Earlier this week on the 20th of July, MasterCard announced that they were simplifying its access to speed up the process of its program for crypto card issuers. This would allow possible applicants to be onboarded as partners in just a few weeks. The Accelerate program will give partners support with their market entry now it has been enhanced for crypto card applicants. New crypto partners will be assisted in integrating the technology of MasterCard but they will be in a position to benefit from the company’s cybersecurity as well as its market research. The executive vice president of digital assets and blockchain products and partnerships at MasterCard, Raj Dhamodharan has said the following on the matter: “The cryptocurrency market continues to mature, and Mastercard is driving it forward, creating safe and secure experiences for consumers and businesses in today’s digital economy.” It will be interesting to see how this situation plays out.
